So you have a subwoofer that is not working. Is it the subwoofer, the wiring, or the receiver? Here are a couple quick ways to trouble shoot your problem so you can get back up and running as soon as possible.
First things first, we need to see if the subwoofer is the problem or if it is something else. To do this simply take another subwoofer and swap it with the one that is not working, if the subwoofer that wasn’t working works in its new location then it is most likely not the subwoofer. Now go to the back of your receiver and swap the wires and see if the subwoofer works. If the subwoofer works now then you know you know it is an issue with your wiring. If the subwoofer does not work with the wires swapped then it most likely a problem with the receiver.
If you follow the instructions above you should be able to troubleshoot your subwoofer problem is less than 5 minutes. Hopefully is it just a simple wiring problem and you can run a couple of new wires and have the best home subwoofer up and running again in no time.
